Contemporary Labor Market

The third edition of the LUBELSKIE ECONOMIC FORUM is over! This year’s edition of the Forum was held on November 16, 2023. and was combined with the presentation of the results of the project “Time to Fresh Up: Cultivating Economic Literacy for Resilient Work in Europe”, No. KA220-ADU-50D9401E.

WSEI University invited individuals representing local and foreign, education and business units. The event was aimed at teachers of adults (teachers, trainers, counselors), but also people interested in the topics presented and strengthening their position in the modern labor market. 

The conference was aimed at supporting the socio-economic development processes of the Lublin region and promoting the development of individual resilience at work, understood as the ability to find creative solutions to emerging changes and crises. 

The topics of this year’s Forum focused on the problems of the functioning of the modern labor market, business and social structures and individual needs under conditions of economic and social crises. 

The Forum was divided into two substantive parts, in which discussions were held. The discussion panels were preceded by the presentation of the FU Work project, which was delivered by Prof. Tomasz Wołowiec. 

The topics of the conference touched on current labor market problems, such as: 

  • Changes in the labor market as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis,
  • Competencies of the future,
  • The idea of basic income and sustainable labor,
  • Labor guarantee in modern monetary theory,
  • A feminist perspective on labor in health care,
  • The platform economy and its impact on labor,
  • Career counseling in times of transition,
  • The concept of the “gig economy.”

Participants of the meeting also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the e-learning platform containing materials developed within the framework of the FU Work project, i.e. courses, teaching tools, videos, tests and group assignments.
