Career support: the future of jobs and skills

Event in Prague / Czech Republic from 9 to 13 o’clock on 7th December 2023. More than 30 interested citizens took part to learn on the future of jobs, skills and careers. The majority of them were so-called disadvantaged people on the labour market – either unemployed or inactive in long-term, many with health issues which impair their employability.

Zdenka Havrliková, PhD, director of the Czech partner organisation AVITEUM, introduced into the changing landscape of the labour market, e.i. trends, challenges and opportunities. She reflected on career guidance in times of turbulent changes and how people can successfully navigate their own careers and thus success on the labour market.

She also took reference to the project’s learning platform and the food for thought articles with regard to the event’s topic. Ms. Havrliková asked for feedback to the platform at this stage: the design, navigation, clarity, content, etc.

After this exchange started the practical career support with interactive sessions on discovering strengths and improving coping strategies to manage career changes.

“It was very helpful.” “I felt very much respected.” “I could get to know others in a similar situation.” “The event encouraged me to discover new ways.” These are some of the remarks which participants expressed right after the event.
